David Kelby Johnson was Elizabeth Hope Armstrong's grandson. His life was tragically cut short by a drunk driver in 1983, and that tragedy forever changed and affected Elizabeth; she remained a relentless crusader against drunk driving for the rest of her life.

Our friend and benefactor Elizabeth Hope Johnson passed away on March 5, 2014. One of her greatest wishes had been to honor and share the memory of her late grandson, David Kelby Johnson. In 2013 she made that wish come true with an extraordinary, heart-felt donation to Moran Eye Center's ongoing outreach programs—locally and around the world.

The David Kelby Johnson Foundation only provides funding to qualified 501 (c)(3) organizations. We will review grant requests twice each calendar year in March and October.
