Healthy Meals for Kids
/In March of 2024 The DKJ Memorial Foundation was proud to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis in order to purchase an industrial freezer and refrigerator. This has given the Boys & Girls club the necessary equipment to provide meals for their program participants and combat food insecurity.
“Your donation enabled us to purchase an industrial walk-in refrigerator and freezer, which played a pivotal role in expanding our afterschool and summer meal program. This enhancement allowed us to serve full, balanced, five-part meals instead of simple snacks—ensuring that children who rely on school meals for proper nutrition continue to receive healthy, well rounded options while attending our programs. Last year we provided over 96,000 meals to 2,000 youth at our ten Club sites. After implementing a more comprehensive meal afterschool and during the summer months, we saw the many health benefits that result in higher food security, including an enhanced ability to achieve academic success and healthier lifestyle outcomes.”
