Preserving Navajo Culture
/In March of 2024 The DKJ Memorial Foundation was proud to partner with Yee Ha’ Olnii Doo in an effort to supply computers and equipment for the Tsé Bii' Ndzisgaii Community Center. This equipment has been used to create opportunities to take Navajo language and cultural preservation classes.
“Since finishing the installation, we’ve started using the space and have shared the news with our community and partners. We’re especially excited about the interest from San Juan County in working together to broadcast classes to other business hubs around the region. This will give people outside the reservation—who want to stay connected to Navajo language and culture—an easy way to join us. The Zoom room is also helping us reach community members who might not have had reliable access to computers before. Now, with just a smartphone, they can join classes and events without having to travel.”
