In October 2024, The DKJ Memorial Foundation was proud to partner with The Christmas Box International to provide critical resources—including essential items, educational materials, activities, books and toys—for children, teens, and young adults ages 0 to 22.
“This support comes at a critical time. In 2024, a staggering 8,791 children were confirmed as victims of abuse or neglect in the state of Utah. Around 21% of the cases were domestic violence-related child abuse. Adding to this challenge, Utah’s child welfare system is grappling with significant workforce turnover, with over 40% of frontline caseworkers leaving their roles in recent years. This instability creates a critical gap for children and families in need of consistent care and support.”
